Album Notes
"Once in a while an album comes along that can alter your thinking about guitar music - Steve Baughman's Farewell to Orkney is one of those....A must for all lovers of guitar and especially Celtic music." Acoustic Guitar Magazine

Farwell to Orkney is 13 cuts of unadulterated solo acoustic guitar music. Three years in the making, this CD contains five Celtic tunes, three hymns, a Swedish dance tune, an old-time march and three clawhammer pieces including Steve's single, Wasilla Weed. The music is all instrumental except for two very brief vocal interludes. The pieces range from slow, sad and soothing to lightning fast. There is also one experimental tune played clawhammer style on a fretless guitar. Good background music for the non-guitarist and good learning material for the guitar officianado. I think this is my best work to date.
