Album Notes
"Pour guitare" is a collection of works by exclusively Canadian composers, many of which are premiere recordings. The music is eclectic and exciting, featuring guitar duos and electroacoustic pieces in addition to solo repertoire. Includes works by Claude Vivier, Daniel Mehdizadeh, Jacques Hétu, Andrew Staniland, Jason Noble, François Bergeron, Kati Agócs, and Steve Cowan.

Steve Cowan is quickly rising as a compelling performer amongst the new generation of classical guitarists. Top prizes in several competitions have led him to concert appearances throughout Canada and the United States, where he has been praised for his powerful sound, insightful interpretations, and unique repertoire choice. He is currently active as a performer, teacher, and composer in Montréal, Québec, Canada.

Pour guitare was made possible through the assistance of the Music Section of the Canada Council for the Arts, as well as through the Prix de Québec from McGill University.
