Album Notes
Response from listeners:

"Steve, you definetly have a way with words. "

"Your CD is very diverse, wow! I like your voice too, VERY nice sound!"

"We listened to your CD this morning and it was GREAT! We totally loved it - every song. It sounds fantastic. And I went to your website and I didn't know you had all those songs there and wow - wow - WOW! I am so impressed."

About this CD:

This is a collection of songs I wrote between 1971 and 2007. When asked about my style, I say, “Whatever I’m in the mood for.” I just try to enlighten and inspire with a positive spark in every song. I hope you will enjoy what you hear. I’d love to hear your feedback. You can contact me at

The title song is my take on some good advice I got from American philosopher L. Ron Hubbard on how to handle antagonistic people. "Good roads and good weather" means adopting a calm, respectful and unprovoked attitude toward the antagonist, rather than fighting back. The name comes from the idea of sending a postcard from vacation saying that the roads and weather have been good. To me, it communicates that one is giving due consideration to the more pleasant aspects of life and it is an invitation for the antagonist to do likewise. Covered in depth in The Problems of Work, Bridge Publications.

I’d like to thank my friends and family and all those who influenced, knowingly or unknowingly, the creation of the songs in this collection.

“Come to Me” is dedicated to Luis Colon.

“I Made Love to an Angel” composed by Steve and Marilyn Dockendorf.

All selections performed by Steve Dockendorf except on “Bad Enough (to be Good Enough for Me)” Steel Guitar played by Lenny Amaral.

More responses from listeners:

"I have your song now & I really enjoyed hearing it today. Thanks for sharing & I'll be delighted to play it on the show."

- “Reminds me of Jimmy Buffett, there's a long steel drum, tropical intro, followed by lovely vocals. You can pretend you're in Key West or the Caribbean while listening.”

"I listened to your song (Come to Me) and thought you did a great job with it. It was very well written and had a well constructed melody! "

"I really enjoyed listening to your music. It was like going to a party. I especially like the song I Made Love to an Angel. That is very special that you wrote it with and about your wife. Your music sounds beautiful. I look forward to hearing all of it."

"Just listened to some of your music. It was really lovely! What I liked, was that it was natural, plain and simple country which didn't sound fake and which made you just feel good and which you would just listen to in everyday situations, while you work or so or to have a good time. Too many artists try to be this or that and end up totally fake and annoying. I liked the simple and truthful part and that you weren't trying to be like this or that or terribly in fashion. I like it when people are themselves and stick to old-fashioned values."

"I listened to your CD. Great variety in your choice of songs. I really liked that! The recording quality is excellent as well.
The instruments are clean and clear and I can hear your vocals and understand your words. The big studios could use some of your help!"

"Great song with a country vibe."

"Cool song Steve, real Americana I would say."

"We listened to your songs. Wonderful!"

"Steve Dockendorf did an absolutely astounding job with his music tonight. I've only heard him do a few at a time at showcases, so tonight was a treat. I really like his song 'Bad Enough, to be Good Enough...' Thanks Steve!!!!"
