ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Mixed and mastered by Ben Wisch (producer of Marc Cohn's grammy-winning self-titled album, and other renowned singer/songwriters like David Wilcox, Christine Kane, Eugene Ruffolo, and Patti Larkin), Steve's first album has been hailed as "provocative", "fun", and "packed with subtle emotion." A poet at his core, Steve's thoughtful, clever lyrics are supported by full, resonant vocals reminiscent of a young James Taylor. Steve dreams of opening for James one day soon.

Nowadays, Steve tours around his home in Northern California and around the country, building and nurturing his ever-growing fan base. The pure joy on Steve's face as he performs speaks volumes, and his easy way of including the audience in the stories he tells has made Steve a fan favorite in clubs and coffeehouses nationwide. Steve looks for inspiration in everything he does, and feels very fortunate to be allowed to share with others the music that he loves.

Steve is a talented songwriter and muscian. The CD's great!
Steve Krause's Very Fine Line is a wonderful addition to the genre. The music calms and inspires, staying with you beyond its playtime. Having listened to it only twice, I awoke one morning with the lyrics of Snoopy playing in my mind. A real Delight!

Wonderfully lyrical and sure to make you feel good.
As I listened to the CD I often found myself tapping my fingers along with music, even though it was the first time I had heard any of the music. On most CDs you listen a few times before the selections grow on you to the point where they sound pleasant and fun to the ears. On 'Very Fine Line', I found that I genuinely enjoyed every single song the first time I heard it. I hope that Steve visits the Seattle area sometime soon, I want to hear his music in person.

YOU WOULD BE FOOLISH NOT TO BUY THIS CD
Steve Krause is clearly ther next up-and-coming folk music star. He has *most definitely* got the skills! The quality of the sound on the CD is excellent - very clean, crisp, precise sound, with every strum resonating perfectly. If you like any genre of folk music, I recommend buying this CD before they sell out.

Pure Enjoyment !
This is a definite treasure. For his first CD, Steve Krause treats us to a wonderful array of songs that truly showcase his amazing talent. Each minute is full of wit, emotion, and great sounds of guitar playing. After listening to the entire CD (again and again), I ask only one question ... when is the next CD coming out???

Good music from a talented new artist. Good listening.
Steven's songs deserve a wider audience than they have received, his musical presentation of his own work makes for pleasant listening. He is certainly as good or better than many of the artists currently on the air waves. His song writing and singing talent deserve broader recognition.

How did he do it?
I can't even imagine having the creativity that Steve shows in his clever lyrics and incredible music. This is an incredible first CD from a very talented artist. I played "Icarus is Falling" on my way to work this morning, I had only listened to it 2 or 3 times before, but it was the tune that I was singing in my head all day. I hope the world figures out that Steve deserves a Grammy for this CD!

Catchy songs & clever lyrics make for great music
I loved this CD. Steve's voice is clear and smooth - pretty enough to make you try to sing like him, but real enough that you can be sure its a person and hasn't been edited to death. The songs, which are great when played just with an acoustic guitar, really benefit from the extra instumentals that backup his lyrics. The songs are catchy, and the lyrics are complex enough to make to think as you're listening, but not so obscure you feel like they are someone else's inside joke. My biggest critique is that sometimes it feels like they've overdone the background vocals a bit... but on the whole one of my favorite albums.
