This is an lighter rock album of a diverse nature. The album has stories and instrumentals this album has been described as "Holistic" "Beautiful". There is love in this album and there is comedy and every tune is different as I write on subject material.

ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Hi I am Steve I come from Ross on the Westcoast of the south Island of New Zealand.
My greatest passion is creating new form and story whether from hard stone or sound.
Music is my greatest medium for expression as I like to create a tabestry description of the life which I travel through.
I use guitars both electric, acoustic, synth, bass piano and voice.
On this particular Album "Footsteps to the sun" I have been fortunate to experience the wonderful services of "Bob Katz"
Masterer guide and "Ricardos Landaeta" tracker.
Bob also put me onto the services of drummer "Frank Basile" who became my drummer for the album I will never use drum machines again.
The album starts of course with my "Cover me in honey" which is my ultimate expression of all the feeling I possess and finishes in a similar but different instrumental "Footsteps to the sun" a most passionate tune.
In between the romantic "Your Kissin' " the sweetest ones you ever had to "Keep the beat" a dry humour look at the music industry and life in genral were many try to toe the line of uniformity in order to suceed.. a laugh at the end for you I hope?
"Politics" is an instrumental about the way in general that Politicians react to honest answers. We usually go away wondering what question was it that we asked in the first place!
"Hunger finds us all" is a throbbing reality, bringing us all down to one, followed by "Running with you". Have you ever loved running with someone out in the wild or on the road? Then this ones for you.
"Slippery" an instrumental with many twists and turns follows then a song I named "A mean Woman".
A mean woman is a common enough name for a blues song however this one has a real difference and although I took a few liberties with a true life experience I reckon the humour in this number is something to remember.
"Worries for another day" a song about breaking down in an unpopulated are with no traffic passing by beside one of New Zealands biggest rivers the Taramakau with only deer, sandflies, mosquito's and a sick motorbike for company.
Next up is an instrumental called "Ross" a tune of course written about the varied population in my home town Ross.
the attitudes that exist in a small town of around 360 people are varied and many.
"So you say" the embitted divorcing male drowning his cares at the local pub! This is really a number for the "Pogues" I have to say!
Lastly, "Footsteps to the sun" an instrumental emphatic and emotional and that is where it ends... I will not tell you any more of this I think it will hit your own spot.
My songs tell stories of my life's experiences and the endurance, comedy and release which ultimately occurs.
Having a drummer of Franks ability really set my rock instrumentals up and showed them or what they are. Bob and Ricardo on the other hand made arrangement decisions I could never have made, they helped take my raw material to a new level.
Although classed as "Rock" many of these tunes whether lyrical or instrumental are passionate, danceable, lovable, varied and laughable...
