Do You Know Me

by Steven Boyce

Out of the desert came a messenger… We were here before our time began. This is only the beginning of the beginning The end had already been here many times before We were not put here entirely by accident. Nor was evolution entirely natural. Several million years ago, our race inhabited a nearby planet we now call mars. This planet was ultimately destroyed by pollution, overpopulation and mismanagement of resources. We were not put here entirely by accident. Nor was evolution entirely natural. Several million years ago, our race inhabited a nearby planet we now call mars. This planet was ultimately destroyed by pollution, overpopulation and mismanagement of resources. Mainly, the destruction of the air and water were the main factors which led to an irreversible reaction causing the planet’s atmosphere to evaporate and to be released from its gravitational hold.

Scientists did not know what life on earth would entail. All they knew is that the earth was mostly covered with water, ice and snow. With this climate in mind, the only way to ensure sustainable life of their species was to create a form of self-sustaining embryo, containing the identical genetic fabric, a mirror of them.

This life form, by the billions, was then placed in various states of suspension. Some were frozen, others were immersed in water, and some were airborne within capsules that would be released upon landing into the atmosphere. These were then placed into several space vehicles and launched towards Earth. As the last days on Mars became clear, it was hoped that life on Earth would continue.

As a last message from a crying civilization, a message was emitted into the darkness of Space, in hopes that it would be received by whatever Supreme Being was out there.
