Album Notes
Jazzed Edge explores the Jazz Idiom using just a single instrument, Korg's KAOSSILATOR; yielding an inherently electronic nu jazz master blend of drums, sax, piano, organ, brass, bass, bells, guitar and other synthetic musical timbres. Sculpted from a series of two-bar vamps, the songs joyfully explore an eclectic mix of jazzy grooves with elements of free jazz, fusion, avant garde, nu jazz and more traditional elements.

About the Songs:
Happiness builds from a playful drum and bass groove, with soaring individual solos over top.

Organic applies soulful sax and trumpet interludes punctuated with intense organ runs.

Artificial Hip is a swirling beat extravaganza with guitar and synthetic sounds interwoven with a peppy groove.

Power Forward cleverly uses feedback and a guitar driven power sound with soulful and stacking instrumentals.

Julius builds a structure of six independent solo parts layered into a coherent and cohesive whole coupled to a classic spang-a-lang beat.

Heavy Traffic links a fusion sound with spirited synthesizers evoking a populous highway.

Remembering has a laid-back seventies vibe with joyous trumpet solos to reminisce.

In Due Time takes a leisurely New Orleans style pace through a series of runs, riffs and explorations.

Trilogy unites three movements with a power guitar and a trip-hop beat interspersed with traditional jazz instrumentals.

Sidewalk is a casual, breezy piece with sunlight and a deft amble ever so slightly askew.

Roadwork joins heavy vibrato and an uplifting synthetic melody evocative of a boxer putting in the miles.

Trilogy (Reprise) revisits Trilogy with more expansion on the theme and additional experimentation.

Cognitive Dissonance is a brief sonic swatch tying in all of the idioms into a bright mix of avant garde exploration that drifts away after bringing all of the elements into complete action and interplay.
