ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
At the height of my rock vocal, lead guitar, and compositional powers I was blessed with finding drummer Daren Shanholtzer. Daren can play anything (literally) solidly at any speed and any time signature to the point of people in the audience verbalizing his incredible abilities between the sets. I was further blessed with finding bassist Michael Tuttle. Michael has the magic combination of incredible technique, music theory knowledge, love for experimentation, bass orchestration, and bass "prescience" that makes him one of the few people in world who can make a "rock trio" viable. In addition to my compositions the song Waves of Time is written primarily by Daren but with a new orchestrated bass line by Michael, and with new guitar and keyboard lines as well as new lyrics and vocal melody written by me that kept the same topic, and mood of the original lyrics. The song Knink was written primarily by Michael, with guitar and keys by me, and drums by Daren. The song Commercial was written primarily by Michael and Daren and performed as a noise experiment with Steve Wade, Ed Frazier, and Lianne Powell also performing. I added some vocals and performed editing on the piece to complete the finished product. Lastly, the Warren Zombie Apocalypse is a bonus track completely written, played and produced by Steve Petrinko. It is written in the same over the top style of this album and easily could have been a song played by BAMF! back in the day. Near the time this album was completed, Michael left the band to pursue adventure in what I remember to be a year-long or longer excursion to South America. Daren and I moved on and found a new bass player, Dave Hutchinson and a new lead guitarist, Adam Trahan to free me up on stage and the band and this album were "rebranded" as the "The Bureau" and the album title being changed to BAMF!. Now almost 20 years later, there is current band called "The Bureau" already published, so I rebranded the album AGAIN to be searchable under my name and reverting to the original cover art by Shawn Kretschmer. The word BAMF!, despite the fact that it can easily be easily transformed into something crude, was never meant that way. BAMF! is the spelling Daren came up with to describe how a friend of his of would use onomatopoeia to express the word BAM with an F or PH sound at the end to get not only the sound of the impact but also the repercussion afterwards as well.
