Album Notes
Steve is a self taught musician who has been playing music since the age of four. He plays guitar, mandolin, piano, lap steel guitar, bass, drums and sings. His musical journey began when he saw The Beatles first USA television appearance on the Ed Sullivan Show on February 9,1964.After that the spark was ignited, and since then he has never looked back and has worked as a professional musician for more than thirty five years now.
"A Little History on Steve"...
“The Early Days”
As soon as Steve and his older brother Jeff acquired some instruments (purchased by their mother Phenton) they began to put together bands.Together they spent countless hours learning how to play, rehearsing and making plans on how to get out of the house (where they rehearsed!)and start gigging around the local area. With older brother Jeff on drums and acting as manager they put together several bands where at an early age Steve learned his trade in the clubs. There would be frequent ‘rescue missions’ from Mom when the van would break down,or other various mishaps...and Phenton was always there with financial assistance when the next P.A. System,or guitar amp, etc, etc was needed. It was his brother Jeff who encouraged Steve to write his first songs which they immediately began playing out in the clubs.
Jeff still plays drums but now owns his own business ‘Musicians Support &Supply’ in New Castle, Penn.
“A Little Further Up The Road”
Steve got his “first break” (i.e. out of the clubs and onto the concert stage)in 1985 when he was asked to join the rock group The Godz who had a hit on Kiss’ label Casablanca. The band was in their second re-formation guided by guitarist Freddie Salem who was coming from a great career with gold/platinum recording artist' The Outlaws. The band's biggest break came when they were asked to join Metallica on their first usa headline tour as support act, further success failed to materialize for the Godz and the band stalled in the club scene while Steve went on to join A&M recording artist Glen Burtnik who had a top ten hit with “Follow You”,this band’s highlights were many including being support act for The Hooters on their “No Way Home tour” playing arena’s across the USA...Numerous stars such as Bon Jovi,Bruce Hornsby,Patty Smyth and others would make appearances onstage with Glen's band at The Stone Pony in Asbury Park,New Jersey.Steve spent four years playing in Glen's band before his next move to Nashville,Tn.
After signing a songwriting publishing deal with hit recording artist T.Graham Brown's publishing co. in 1993 Steve has had cuts by the 'living legend' George Jones,Kenny Rogers,Tommy Castro and T.Graham himself, although he can certainly write country songs his true heart lies in blues/rock/pop music as is presented in all of the Steve Schuffert Band releases.Steve has also served as T.Graham Brown's guitarist on innumerable road dates and television appearances and as chief engineer/producer at his private studio in Nashville.
Steve has also recently contributed guitar once again for Pittsburg,Pa. area legend B.E.Taylor's new cd "Give Thanks".
He also continues to write and produce music for specially challenged children through the Songs Of Love Foundation since 2006.
The band caught a lucky break in 1996 while playing in Ankorage Alaska meeting a contact who put them together with Fortune Records founder Thomas Bauer who would play a pivotal role in the bands career over the course of the next 15 years. His efforts would see the releasing of six cd’s on his label, handling their management affairs and booking them on 16 tours, thereby laying the cornerstone foundation of The Steve
Schuffert Band in Europe.Thomas has been there to guide them and move them forward through any and all obstacles wherever they arose.
Thomas Bauer continues to play a major role in Steve and the band’s career today.

The Steve Schuffert Band has played more than 800 shows in Europe over the course of 17 tours and has accumulated a large and faithful following throughout Germany,Switzerland,Austria,Norway,Chezk Republic,Denmark and Poland. (COOL FACT) In 2001 they played the Montreux Jazz festival and received reviews in the Montreux daily press stating: "one of the best sets of this years season." (thank you Montreux) There are currently several videos of The Steve Schuffert Band from the Europe tour 2007 on 'youtube' posted online now.More to follow...
Steve's latest cd "Destination Anywhere" released in March 2010 marks his ninth album of original material released.
