ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Born in London, England, singer/songwriter Steve spent 4 years as a writer and recording artist at DJM. He left London in the 1980's to write and perform in Los Angeles, where he was a house writer with L.E.M. America. Emotive, intelligent lyrics and beautiful melodies are the hallmark of Steve's work.
Steve Stapley's gravelly, soulful vocals swell emotively over understated, clean acoustic guitar. His lyrics address the hopeful and the wistful, striking a captivating balance that is somehow both soothing and stimulating." BMI

RIDE THIS WAVE
Written by Steve Stapley ©2015

I’M GONNA RIDE THIS WAVE,
I’VE GOT TO TURN THIS DAY AROUND
SOMETIMES I CAN’T DO A THING ABOUT THE WAY I FEEL
I SIT IN SILENCE LIKE A BROKEN WHEEL

NOW I’M GONNA RIDE THIS WAVE
I’VE GOT TO TURN MY HEAD AROUND
I GOT OUT OF BED THE WRONG WAY UP
AND IT’S HARD FOR ME TO FIND A WAY TO STOP

I’M GONNA RIDE THIS WAVE,
AND NOTHING’S GONNA BRING ME DOWN

I’M GONNA RIDE THIS WAVE,
I’VE GOT TO TURN THIS NIGHT AROUND
SOMETIMES I CAN’T SEE THAT I’VE BEEN SINKING LIKE A STONE
STARING OUT THE WINDOW LIKE THERE’S NOBODY AT HOME

I’M GONNA RIDE THIS WAVE,
AND NOTHING’S GONNA BRING ME DOWN

SOMETIMES I CAN’T DO A THING, ABOUT THE WAY I FEEL
I SIT IN SILENCE LIKE A BROKEN WHEEL
LIKE A BROKEN WHEEL
BUT I’M GONNA RIDE THIS WAVE,

I’M GONNA RIDE THIS WAVE,
AND NOTHING’S GONNA BRING ME DOWN
I’M GONNA RIDE THIS WAVE.
