Chico Sanchez

A delicious adventure of delirium and madness, floating through a strange land somewhere between the epic qualities of Bowie's "Hunky Dory" and the homegrown cynical observations of Morrissey's "You Are the Quarry". A journey that is at once whimsical, sad and enlightening.

Not Maggie Thatcher

Not your average jams.
If you're looking to explore some new music that sounds just like everything else you already listen to, don't buy this.

Steve Stroud's skillful musicianship combined with his artful writing, leave listeners with not only a unique sound to ponder, but introspective (and just plain INTERESTING) lyrics to ponder, too.

It will be to the listener's benefit to listen to Stroud's album with a freshly-whittled handmade pencil and a well-loved Moleskine close at hand. Inspiration begets inspiration, and you might be overcome at any given moment to jot down an existential response to something heard or experienced whilst listening to this album.

At the very least, enjoy these tunes with a thick slice of crusty bread and an alcoholic beverage of your choice. It's what Steve Stroud would want.

it's like bum with cous cous with a nice lambrini
Since first hearing of Steve Strouds music back in ohhh say 2001 I've been waiting for him to come up with something I could finally listen to, Only joking!
Although Steves tunes have highly hilarious lyrics, they are counteracted by the strength of his voice and then you can only come to one conclusion, this man is off his tits, but in a brilliant way!
Don't listen to this album if your Mum is round for tea.....she'll spit out her false teeth!
Don't listen to this album if you are trying to seduce a girl, she will not appreciate that you love a tune about 'Real dolls' you pervs
Listen to this when you are on your own, just you, the mirror(not the newspaper variety),and a big roll of kitchen towel, this is of course to wipe away the tears you will weep as Steve takes us on an emotional Journey of angst, loves lost and won, and just the general crap from every day life!
you might not understand many of the songs, but you will love them....all of them,in their entirety!
Although I do know Steve, he has not paid me for this review, the stingy arsehole hasn't even given me a free copy!
