ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Steve is back with a new family music single "My Family", an upbeat swing tune reminiscent of the east coast "Beach Music" he grew up with back in South Carolina.

As the title would suggest the song is about families, but when Steve sings about sisters, brothers, mothers and fathers, he's talking about a common family to which we all belong. "I think if everyone just treated others as if we were all part of a greater family", Steve says, "the world would be much better for it. We're all supposed to be looking out for each other."

Steve has already made his mark on the national music scene with 6 critically acclaimed CDs, multiple #1 hits, and a first-place award in the USA Songwriting Competition children's music category. "My Family" continues this tradition, but this is not a brand new song for him.

"I've been performing this song live for many years but had never recorded it. I just wasn't sure what musical style would best fit. I finally decided to base the song on what we called "Beach Music" back in the Carolinas. This was a genre of R&B music my parents' generation swing-danced to. Hopefully it's a nice homage to those swingy R&B tunes from the 50s and 60s."
