Album Notes
Award winning composer Steve Wood (most recently the best score award for "Greece - Secrets of the Past" at the 2006 Giant Screen Cinema Association Awards - his fourth) once again puts many diverse elements together to create an evocative and gorgeous score that makes for wonderful listening. After producing two projects for noted Greek tenor Mario Frangoulis, Steve was thrilled to return to Athens to once again delve into the rich musical heritage of Greece. He was able to assemble an amazing ensemble of some of today's top musicians and singers. The results are emotional and, though exotic, speak a timeless and universal language.

Steve Wood has been scoring films with Greg MacGillivray for MacGillivray Freeman Films since Greg's surfing cult classic Five Summer Stories. Since then, he has worked on numerous IMAX® films. Steve worked with Sting on both "The Living Sea" and the Oscar Nominated "Dolphins", with George Harrison on the Oscar nominated "Everest", the Moody Blues on "Journey Into Amazing Caves, Lindsay Buckingham on "Adventures in Wild California" and Crosby, Stills and Nash on "Coral Reef Adventure", and has just completed working with Brian May of Queen on a new IMAX® Theatre film about the Alps.

Wood has had an extensive and varied career in the music business. He has toured the world playing live with Kenny Loggins (9 years as musical director), The Pointer Sisters, Michael McDonald, and many others. He has worked on music for many feature films and shared a Clio award with Stevie Wonder for their work on a Hansen's soda commercial .

Scoring giant screen films has allowed Wood to develop his interest in and knowledge of diverse ethnic music including Indonesian, Caribbean, Chinese, Tibetan, South American, African, Middle Eastern and Irish and Greek styles. He has also recorded folk music in Fijian locations. For the last several years, Steve has produced music extensively for Sony Classical, including two CDs of music with Mario Frangoulis and a CD with opera legends Salvatore Licitra and Marcelo Alvarez.

Fantastic Soundtrack!
I have to admit that I've been listening to the "Greece - Secrets of the Past" CD almost constantly since I bought it. At first, I was attracted to the soundtrack because of instrumental tracks like "Eruption," but I've now grown to love the beautiful Greek vocal tracks as well. I think it's wonderful that this CD features such talented Greek artists. With the powerful vocals and the use of traditional instruments, I feel like I'm back in Greece again, soaking up the sun and all of that incredible history and culture!

Awesome Soundtrack!
I saw MacGillivray Freeman's "Greece Secrets of the Past" on Monday at the IMAX in Philadelphia. I sat through it going "This is such awesome and powerful music!" Right after the show I went to the gift shop and bought the soundtrack. I LOVE the soundtrack! Being a musician myself, I know the power of music, and this soundtrack captures and portrays the Greek Culture. A definent buy for all who are passionate about music!

Absolutely Breathtaking!
I was so taken by this soundtrack when viewing the film at IMAX, I knew it was a CD that I must have. Thanks CD Baby for making this available, and affordable! This music is absolutely incredible, and makes me long to visit Greece!

Amazing music - yperohi mousiki
I watched the awesome movie at the IMAX theater in San Diego. My husband asked for the CD because he loves everything Greek! Every time I hear the music I close my eyes and see the blue of the Aegean. It feels good to be home!

Greece - Secrets of the Past
My husband and I hosted a club event where we went to see Greece-Secrets of the past on an Imax screen and then to a Greek restaurant. We had a great time. I fell in love with the beautiful vocals and instrumental music. I shared the movie with a friend of Greek ancestery and she absolutely loved it. I bought a dvd of the movie and a cd of the soundtrack for her birthday and bought copies for myself. The movie and soundtrack both are mesmerizing!
