Album Notes
Stevi Madison was born Stevi Madison Smith in Thousand Oaks, California, USA on April 4, 1986, an only child. She grew up listening to a lot of the Beatles, Frank Sinatra, Whitney Houston and different styles which influenced her writing as well as her vocal performance. She so impressed her grade school music teacher with her singing, she was chosen as soloist in her first grade Christmas Special. Through the years the vocal requests continued culminating in a starring role as “Dorothy” in, “You Ain’t Nothing but a Werewolf”. It was during this year Stevi wrote her first song at the age of twelve, “Where Were You When You Were Young?” dedicating it to her intermediate school, St Mary’s and all Angels.

Later Stevi spent summers attending tennis and volleyball camps. She always began the camp as an intermediate B player but ended in a lower designation and winning the award for Miss Congeniality.

Her early years filled with fun, she learned the lighter side of performing by attending Clown camp. She performed comedy skits and with perseverance learned the art of juggling.

Stevi’s family moved quite a bit with her father’s ambitious maneuvers, making it difficult to establish “best” friends but affording her the opportunity to make many friends.

During her first year in high school, she was singled out by a group of girls to be bullied and threatened resulting in a change of schools. Hurt but never deterred, she began using the experiences in her songwriting. She wrote songs, recorded songs, contacted other songwriters to collaborate with, auditioned for singing roles, performed in musical theatre, and began modeling. She has posed for teen fashion prints and CD covers and aspiring photographer’s portfolios. The highlight of her modeling career was working with acclaimed photographer, Patricia De La Rosa.

Stevi moved to Nashville in 2006 to attend college and learn from her cousin, Country singer, Brandon Sandefur. In Nashville, she went to class and afterward worked on her music. Her first studio mix, a country/rock single, “Beautiful,” was chosen for the Music for Troops compilation CD sent to US troops around the world. With this inspiration, she returned to California to start a band and make a video with the song. This video resulted with a top ten finalist position in the first ever Cosmopolitan Star Launch Contest.

Miss Madison recorded several original songs during her stay in California but growing older, styles and attitudes change. She discovered a more comfortable style in working with Michael Allaf, accomplished producer, guitarist and songwriter. She returned to Nashville to nurture this new style.
