Album Notes
Well, they've done it again. Just when we thought we had these Americana rockers all figured out with their unique brand of Tom Petty meets Bruce Springsteen meets Neil Young & Crazy Horse, Stewboss goes all Tom Waits meets Nick Drake on us! With their new limited edition EP, the cleverly titled l.e.e.p., Stewboss have proven they cannot be pigeon-holed into one definitive sound.

The songs on l.e.e.p. are mesmerizing to say the least, with their stripped down, easy-to-hum-along-to melodies. Gregg Sarfaty is truly one of the greatest songwriters of his generation. Only time will tell for sure, but you heard it here first, he's a master storyteller. His lyrics are at once simple, almost to the point of being comical, then suddenly so poignant they leave you pondering them for days afterward. We laughed, we cried... you get the picture.

The rumor-mill says this album was recorded and mixed in a day and a half at Greg Upton's Agency Only Studios. Given the material, a smattering of songs Sarfaty has been toting around for the past few years, this was the perfect way to set them down. Seven inspired performances that were not afraid to stay rough around the edges. We've dropped this one into the cd player and set it on 'stun'. We can't stop listening to it! Our only question... why couldn't you guys take an extra day and make it a full-length?!

STEWBOSS unplugged
Lovely mini album. Some new and some old songs. All done accoustically. They work well either way. Great lyrics that make you feel sad or glad. Lovely playing and great sound. Well worth the time to listen to these songs and a nice intro to STEWBOSS generally.

Brilliant, haven't taken it off the stereo since buying it!
Excellent string of songs well worth listening to time and time again!!!

Great acoustic set of songs.
Great acoustic set of songs. I wish it was 14 songs instead of 7. I DIDN'T NOTICE knocked me out! I wish I knew what l.e.e.p. stood for. (It's probably obvious and I'm just ignorant). Sarfaty is the most intelligent new(to me) songwriter I've heard in a good while.

Wooden Gold
Warm, rich and a general delight. Eclectic mix of Stewboss standards and new arrivals. Buy it while you can or regret it when you can't.

Heart of gold
I think Gregg Sarfaty must be one heck of a big-chested guy to hold all that heart. A CD with feeling to share. Thanks guys.

Just the ticket!
This has everything, turns some of the OK songs from their other albums into great songs and puts more into your mind instantly. Tip top.

Acoustic Stewboss makes me feel lovesick
Brilliant. Love the lyrics, love the music, love how it makes me feel - a bitter-sweet yearning like when you're seventeen with a major crush. Lover's eclipse does it for me.

Very nice complementary CD.
Very nice complementary CD to the three full length albums. Both the new songs and alternative versions of tracks are good. Its exact twenty two minutes go by very quickly, prompting regular pressings of the repeat button!
