Album Notes
This creative and inventive band from Kentucky will surprise you with a "stirfry" mixture of music. You'll hear a little Kentucky in "Bluegrass Boy in Baghdad" melding with the music of the Middle East; a folk song from China called "Jasmine Flower;" the vocals of Jeri Katherine Howell and soaring violins of Joanna Hay and Molly Rogers. The unique compositions of guitarist Jeff Ellis have been described as Americana meets Gypsy. The hippest instrument of the millennium is, of course, the accordion, played brilliantly by Ben Griffith. And Jordon Ellis lends his masterful percussion skills to the Stifry sound. Father and Son Jeff and Jordon Ellis borrow their musical genius from each other. Jeff, a self taught guitarist has passed his musicality to his son. Jordon is best know for recording and touring with singer-songwriter-cellist Ben Sollee. Enjoy this band -- a Kentucky Stirfry of musical tastes. Playing to sell out crowds this band has a devout following.
