Album Notes
Out of the duststorms and tumbleweeds of Lubbock Texas comes a unique blend of music. Lubbock has had a history of producing musicians that touch the spirit in everyone. Stonepillow wears that heritage well.

Three brothers Jay, David and Paul Teneyuque grew up in the Hub of the South Plains sharing a dream of music. Singing acapella in the Church of Christ with their parents they learned to harmonize and appreciate music as both a source of inspiration and entertainment. They graduated from Lubbock High School and began pursuing their dream of making music.

The diverse influences they had grown up with helped fashion their unique sound. Stonepillow is not only the name of their band but also something which metaphorically describes the music they create. It is this blend of styles that make up the unique Stonepillow sound.

By blending the smooth natural vocals they had inherited they incorporated their harmony into the heartfelt melodies of the songs they wrote. Just when you think you've finally put your finger on categorizing them they change directions. They can flow from a haunting ballad to a rock 'n roll anthem about the Native American Indian. All the while keeping true to their Americana sound. No matter what your musical taste is they surprise you by finding something which will truly move you.

As the years went by they sang and played in a number of bands. One of the most memorable was a band called Peyote that gained some notoriety in Texas, New Mexico and Louisiana. Through the years they wrote songs with musical influences ranging from traditional country and pop ballads to progressive rock.

Hearing is believing when it comes to music.
Have a listen. Let stonepillow's music take you "between rock and a soft place."
