Over the years, Merle has sifted through a lot of my musical ideas. She has helped me extract the gold that was buried, hidden, or strangled in the dull impermeable rock… or sometimes in the dull impermeable reggae. On occasions she has coolly euthanized a feeble musical idea, much to the glee of everyone within earshot. And sometimes she has simply breathed the lyrics into the four chambers of her heart, and then released them like a flight of angels...
