ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
String of Lights delivers poetic storytelling set to an orchestral indie folk backdrop. The songs are lyrical and melodic, supported by lush, mostly-acoustic soundscapes.

Anchorage, Alaska-based singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist Heather Stewart created the musical project. A number of fellow Anchorage musicians, including Natasha Price, Arkadi Futerman (of String 49), Charles Earnshaw (of The High Pets), Jamie Whiteman (of the Tanana Rafters), Kat Moore (of The Super Saturated Sugar Strings, The Forest That Never Sleeps, and the Chromies), Scott Weller, and Matt Brenna (of Big Fat Buddha) lent their diverse talents and musical viewpoints to the debut album, Migration. The result is a genre-blending collection of contemporary folk songs with influences ranging from classical to jazz to indie rock.

Producer Peggy Monaghan of Arctic Siren Productions says “The songs on Migration take the listener on a beautiful, epic adventure, telling the story of a soul on the cusp of change…”  For more information please visit www.stringoflightsmusic.com.
