ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes

The Strings Attached project has produced its fourth collection of American roots music this summer at the Native Sound recording studio in the Cherokee Street Arts District with the help of local roots musicians and vocalists. We’ve explored the sounds of rockabilly music classics such as, “Guitar Boogie,” “Honey Don’t,” “Mystery Train,” “Rebel Rouser” and “Sleepwalk.” Have a listen and we hope you enjoy it as much as we had recording it!

The Strings Attached project began in 2009 offering nonprofit music education opportunities to neighborhood youth in American roots music. We’ve served hundreds of youth in local St. Louis neighborhoods through individual lessons, small ensemble creations, summer camps, summer academies, in-school residencies and school visits. We’ve recorded four CD’s of American roots music combining student talents with local music artists.
