Album Notes
Atmospheric electronica at it’s best. Subtle Etiquette is an electronic hybrid of stylized vocals with elements of rock, dance and funk, jazz, trip-hop and drum & bass. The songs range from dark and brooding, to upbeat dance-laden hooks and harmonies.

Songwriter and vocalist Bianca Carli mixes intense theatrical performance with interpretive lyrics on a deeper level. Subtle Etiquette songs are explorations into the themes of triumph over adversity, risk taking and the push and pull of loving and living in the modern age.

The diverse talents of drummer Brennan Saul, multi-instrumentalist Alex Fane and bassist Geoff Roop combine to form the band’s unique sound. The self titled debut album and Subtle Etiquette’s live performances garner stellar reviews:

“An album that percolates and simmers on the lighter side of funk. A sophisticated approach sometimes recalling that of early Morcheeba.” - Tom Harrison (The Province)

“Funky urban electronic with seductive female vocals.” – CD Baby

“Subtle Etiquette started with a spark of an idea and has grown into a thunderbolt. Bianca Carli knows how to ‘charge the audience’ with her live performance” - The Free Press

“Bianca… Bionica” - The Now

truly impressed
upon the aquisition of subtle etiquette's CD, I purpously took the longest bus route home to fully enjoy the tunes delivered by Bianca and co. It was an interesting journey. Not only was I truly impressed with the lyrics and vocals but the music is also really neat. I really like the quirky use of samples. At times dark and at times twangly, the songs enhanced and were enhanced by the visual transitions of all the different human moments one tends to witness as a voyeur on a city bus. Basically, taking the time to fully listen to this album, while witnessing the walks of life from my favorite seat on the bus was a rare gem of a pleasure.
I look forward to plugging this album to my friends.
