ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Sue McCreeth's original songs have been critically acclaimed as highly original, and have received press accolades for two decades. This anthology provides an insight to her development as a songwriter and includes fascinating collaborations, including Joseph Mulholland, who is Professor of Harmony at Berklee College of Music USA, and the band Infinite Sunday. The UK music reviewer has championed her work over the course of no less than five of her releases, including the following reviews:
"With clear modesty and simple grace she carries off the most daunting musical feats." Dave Gelly, The Observer
"A cool misty kind of a voice and a style which invites rather than insists on attention .... outstanding." Dave Gelly, The Observer
"She alters her singing voice quite radically to suit the character of individual songs ... impressive." Dave Gelly, The Observer
"A charming and exquisitely performed set." Dave Gelly, The Observer
John Fordham, music critic for The Guardian newspaper has also praised Sue over the years, including the following reviews:
"A gently unconventional performer who guarantees a quietly compelling momentum… a rich mid-register, falsettos and deep purrs, payoffs on barely audible murmurs… calmly inventive… boldly ambitious… she has imagination and heart… "
"Highly original songwriting in wildly contrasting styles." John Fordham, The Guardian
Sue's songs are used as teaching material within Berklee College of Music, USA. The great Gary Burton said of her work, "Your work is logical and effective, this seems to come naturally to you." Sue's songs are now used as teaching materials within Berklee College of Music.
Joseph Mulholland and Larion Stolk are a co-writers for Sue's 2019 release, "Save the Children Now." Other collaborations include Mike Varty and Ian Salmon of Infinite Sunday with whom Sue has collaborated for two decades.
Sue McCreeth is also the writer of the song, "Happy Christmas Everyone Love Has Come" and she has in perpetuity promised 90% of all income from this composition for charities for children, with the assistance of the Anglican Church.
This may well be a writer who will one day be listed with such greats as Laura Nyro and Joni Mitchell.
