Album Notes
After a bunch of life happened in the past few years, it's led to me writing a whole bunch of new songs about my path that reflect being open to love, transitioning, grieving, and recognizing how to stand in my truth. ~ I've been writing songs since about 13, when my sister abandoned her guitar lessons (for boys) and I started messing around with her guitar and writing songs about black-sheepness in a small Eastern Washington town, whose closest claim to fame was a nuclear reactor used to win the war. I 've been playing around the Seattle area for several years, have been featured at the Tractor Tavern, Sunset, Showbox and as a half-time show at Key Arena for the Seattle Storm. My songs have also taken me to NYC at The Bitter End, SXSW, Viper Room in LA and Ireland. I grew up listening to Bonnie Raitt,Heart,Stevie Nicks/Fleetwood Mac, Joan Armatrading, Patsy Cline, EmmyLou Harris, John Prine, and many others. I've been recognized as Best New Artist of the Year (GrIndie Award) Runner up for Song of the Year (Paper Tiger-Perfect Chaos 2009) and chosen for a all female singer-songwriter showcase in Nashville. I'm super psyched for these new songs and hope you might see yourself in my journey as expressed in them as well.
