Album Notes
Midnight Rain is a tribute to the iron ore miners in Minnesota, written by Sue Spaeth after the shutdown of a local mine, leaving 1400 employees without work. Minnesota Blue recalls fond memories of love for the beautiful state. Both songs were released on a CD in November of 2000, featuring the mellow, haunting voice of Sue, as vocalist, with her and daughters, Erica and Angela, singing harmonies. Keyboards were played by Sue, and the rest of the instrumentation was by studio owner Sandy DeLaCruz, whose searing guitar depicts the anguish of love and loss. Sandy (Tagarro) was formerly with the Juan de la Cruz (JDLC) Band, a Filipino rock band, formed in 1968, and pioneered what became known as Pinoy rock.
