Album Notes
Are you bored with non sencical hum drum factory fired tunes? Then step aboard THE ASTRONAUT, is it a homage to space travel? A yearning for lost love? Or simply a hymn to a long gone fairground ride? In this place nothing is for certain.

Some song's can only be born from experiencing the laughter and the tear's.

So if thought provoking, heartfelt music is your bag, then step right up and excersise your mind and free your spirit!

"Gone" is the best Oasis-sounding song that beats anything the Gallagher Bros. have done in many moons.

Paul Sumner is a singer-songwriter born and raised in Southport; a modest seaside town in the North West of England. As one of eight children he sought escape from the strains of family life using music as his outlet. Accordingly, 'A World Of Horses' is strong on heart-on-sleeve sentiment with an echo-driven production; the sound of the seaside opening and closing the record. Sumner's strength lies in his soul-baring material. The acoustic 'Golden Sun' is possibly his best song but it's ably backed up by 'Tyson' and the title track; all of these feature Beatlesque melody and Sumner's delivery at its most yearning. Sumner also attempts a show-stopping 'Revolver'-like number on the ambitious 'The Astronaut' and towards the end of the song he just about pulls off the trick. A commendable first album by Sumner which is strong on honesty as well as tunes.

Saint Paul

exhilerating and intense work that glows with every listen.
music of this quality doesn't show itself too often so we should take it into our hearts when it does!
the stellar funk workout on tyson part 2 is irresistable and not forgetting the epic but poigniant astronaut, lovely. every home should have one!

Refreshingly multi-layered – great listening & great 1st effort
Great sounds, a dazzling album.

Was really impressed with this album from the minute I put it on.

As for the music there are hints of some artists I could name but won't as I think that would detract from the unique sounds put across on this album.

Also a worthy point I thought was how well A World Of Horses works as an album, each song in harmony with those around it, allowing it to play through almost seamlessly
A sound addition to my music collection – many thanks Sumner…definitely well worth a purchase!

Keep up the good work.

Pure poetry written from the heart, excellent guitar and great voice.
This cd is pure talent, I fell in love with it straight away. The lyrics are pure poetry, very deep and meaningful. The guitar playing is excellent and Paul has a great singing voice. I love it, and so do all my family and friends. It seems to appeal to everyone. Hope there will be another album soon.

Soothes My Soul...
The haunting, soulful voice, heartfelt lyrics and exquisite melodic journey of this album make it one of my absolute favorites. I close my eyes, take a deep breath and ride the musical creations of Paul Sumner... Simply fantastique!

Well crafted first album, cant wait for the next
First listening gives an impression of a man paying dues to his influences in fine style. further listening makes you realise that it is the pure influence of himself that makes Paul Sumners music infectious, the personal sounding "Sisters song", "Sorrow" and "Suffer one so strange" are highlights but for me "Maybe its you" has to be the best song. When is the next album ready?

love it
this artist is the most wonderful father and singer/songwriter in the world!
I love you so much!!!

a welcome guest on our radioshow
Its allways great to hear a new lp that brings out the best influences from the past without being dated. Paul Sumner understands this and how to bring out the delicate magic that he kept inside his musical brain for a too long time ! Surprise yourself as 'a world of horses' surprised us...
Beautifull soul folk into pop that you can't resist.
