Album Notes
4 Track Fury, Vol. 1
Supe duJour

Missouri Mule Music is proud to announce the release of “4-Track Fury, Vol. 1”, by Nashville singer/song writer and Missouri native, Supe duJour (also known as Michael Supe Granda). This thirteen-song effort chronicles a simpler time in the Music City.

“When I moved to Nashville (from the Ozarks) in 1991”, Supe recalls, “the first thing I did was buy a four-track cassette tape recorder and a drum machine. This was well before Pro Tools, Auto Tune and file sharing. Then, I started recording the large amount of songs I’d written back in Missouri, as well as songs I was co-writing on a daily basis”.
His co-writers make for an impressive and eclectic list, including Billy Bremner, Walter Egan, Jon Pousette-Dart, Jon Strider, Duane Jarvis and Steve Cash.

“Several of these songs were re-recorded and released by, either myself or my co-writer. Others never saw the light of day. These are my original four-track demos. I played the drum machine on Track 1 and a couple rhythm guitars on Tracks 2 and 3. Then, I mixed them down onto Track 4, while adding a bass, giving me a solid rhythm section on one track and the original three tracks I could record over. I laid down a lead vocal over one of the guitar tracks and a harmony vocal over the other. This left one open track, which I filled with a lead instrument, played by myself or a friend who would stop by to pick. That’s all there is”.

Recorded at Supe’s B. A. Bay Studios, “4-Track Fury” showcases his songs that won’t be featured on the Dr. Demento Show, which, in the past, has played some of his zanier material. “These songs may not be as wacky as some of my others, but they’re still important to me – and I thought worthy of my time to capture on to tape”.
