Album Notes
Finding Freedom is a musical novel depicting an odyssey from the chaos of everyday life, to finding spiritual meaning and inner peace. Tired of being told how to live and what to think by bosses, politicians, the media, and society, we travel to Oregon and initially experience the artistic and drug cultures, only to find that the experiences are manufactured and do not last. Happening upon an enlightened man living in the Hills, we journey deep into the forest to experience life at it’s simplest and most complex forms, contemplating the wisdom imparted by nature itself. We hear voices in the wind and become one with the great river as we smell the pines and cedar, eventually returning with a sense of self discovery, perspective, and inner peace.

Packaged with a book journaling the story and full lyrics, this is the first album by Super Genius since 1995’s “Painting In The Rain”. A collaboration between former members of Lancaster’s “Innocence Mission” (Mike Bitts & Steve Brown) and Philadelphia’s “A Thousand Years” (Tim Kwiat & Tim Halloran), Finding Freedom embraces and celebrates the “concept” album genre that was once quite common in the 1960’s and 1970’s. Be careful on the drive!
