Album Notes
After their diverse sounding, debut album "Incoming"(released in 2002), Surface 2 Air got to work on defining "their sound". Three years later they emerged with a 6 song, self-titled EP that clearly portrayed the direction the band was heading.

Songs like "My Turn", "RPP" and "Waiting Room" from the previous album, had greatly influenced the songs and vocals on this EP. Although the "rapping" was dropped, they picked up the idea of screaming and used it to flavour the new material. Screaming proved to be quiet a challenge which pushed the limitations of vocalists Corny Bartsch and Johnny Guenther. But then again, limitations were being pushed all around with the guitar and drum work.

On top of playing with new guitar tunings, playing heavier, faster songs and screaming, this EP was produced from beginning to end by the four members of Surface 2 Air themselves. Not only was it engineered, mixed and mastered by the band, this was their first attempt at recording. After about a year of recording and mixing, the self-titled EP was released to the public in 2005. The original copy sounded a bit rough and so after a few years, was revisited for a remix and master.

In the eyes of the band, things would have been done much different the next time around but, as with anything, you have to start somewhere.
