Album Notes
De Jong’s performance was a lesson in swing. A powerhouse vocalist and obviously in her element she stamped her authority on the evening with some sizzling scat singing… climbing right inside the band and trading fours with the musicians. Liam Ryan, Bay of Plenty Times

Again de Jong shone as she took the lead vocal on a brooding I Only Have Eyes For You her warm lyricism was supported by a perfect blending of backing harmonies from the other three singers.
Liam Ryan, Bay of Plenty Times

De Jong has a brisk attack, a generous stage presence and an array of technical styles that find a nuanced shape… John Reid, The Press, Christchurch
The versatility of Susan’s voice and the magic of Doug’s piano playing made this a concert to remember…..the depth of musical talent is amazing.
Ralph Woodham President, Musician’s Club Christchurch.

Susan de Jong has an instrumental, contemporary quality to her singing…..There was an element of humour and relaxed enjoyment of the stage that lightened the mix. John Reid, The Press, Christchurch

Susan de Jong’s cheeky I Got Rhythm accompanied only by drums was a highlight.. Rachael Hawkey, The Press, Christchurch
[de Jong has a] way with words, bending and shaping every syllable in a very personal way.. Timothy Jones, The Press, Christchurch
