Album Notes
Poetic soundscapes from the unceded Cowichan Territories on Vancouver Island, British Columbia Canada! This aptly named album, Pagan Lullabies, is a unique collection of 11 modal songs revering nature. Lyrical, poetic, organic and deeply spiritual, it is an artistic experience spanning many genres for the sophisticated listening audience.

This collection is an organic mixture of singing, vocalizations, native and synthetic instruments grounded in a reverence for nature and a human appreciation for life's essentials.

Performance artist Susan Rankin has appeared at diverse venues like Vancouver Art Gallery, CBGBs, Folk City, Catch a Rising Star, Edinburgh Fringe Festival, confounding seasoned music professionals classifications, as they simultaneously compare her to Joni Mitchell, Bertol Brecht, Janis Joplin, Kate Bush.

She uses words and sounds arranged in silence, and movement arranged in space, to carve out the imagery of her vision. Although she has performed for decades this is her first album.
