Album Notes
Neuroscientists tell us that music is a high impact low cost intervention for stress and pain relief. This album is forty-five minutes of pure bliss. Each piece was selected by the artists for its power, beauty, and charm; in short for its ability to move us.

The oldest piece is an ancient French melody collected and reset by Joseph Cantaloube called Lou Bailero, it was intended as a lullaby and you can hear the rocking under the effortless soprano lulling you to calm and sleep. The newest piece is by living composer Madeline Dring called Separation. This piece calls us to feel the distance between loved ones and acknowledge that love abounds in the empty spaces.

Some cabaret-style pieces are included in this album, they include Falling in Love Again and Les chemins de l'amour. These pieces are perfect for having a glass of wine and relaxing after work. Just taking a few minutes to listen to music with your eyes closed can help make the evening better.

Several art songs are presented on this album without their original poetry. The poetry omitted is absolutely beautiful too but in foreign languages the words may distract you from yourself and so they are omitted. This comes from the research that the types of music that can help relieve stress and pain are wordless pieces that are slow and sustained and contain low notes. The research is very young and we believe that the quality of music does affect the outcome so we've chosen only the highest quality pieces to help you relax.

The famous Rachmaninoff Vocalise is among the treasures on this disc. The pure longing is palpable.

This CD is perfect to put on as you are writing in your journal, meditating, getting ready for bed, or just relaxing with a glass of wine. It is great for babies' nurseries and hospital recovery rooms not to mention spas. We have performed this music from our hearts especially to ease pain and stress. May this music quiet your mind and free your spirit.
