ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Faith

At the beginning of 2004, Susanne (singer/songwriter, artist, performer, world traveler) and Jon Jon Alevizakis (producer, engineer, musician, world traveler) set out to create a new album that showed even more depth and growth from the Now CD...Little Buddha Recording Studios had recently been renovated and was hooked up with a whole new, updated recording system...Susanne had written an array of fresh new songs perfect for the album now named, Faith...So...Things were lookin' good to get the album started...

First, the basic acoustic guitar and vocal tracks were laid down by Susanne...Then it was time to seek the drummer for the project...Through personal suggestions from local producers and specifically, through a recommendation from Fantasy Studios in Berkeley, California, Jon Jon and Susanne called up the one and only Steve Bowman (previous drummer from the Counting Crows, currently with Viv)...Steve's experience and precision laid down a sturdy, happenin' foundation...

Simultaneously, Susanne was working with photographer J.D. Crayne to get an array of new photos for the year...Both Sarah and Zan Hyde were present at the photo shoot for supportive, shine assistance...Also, Susanne began sketching out the outline and making progress towards a new website with Brenna Ramirez...Jon Jon continued to record his guitar and bass tracks for the project and delicately, edited and combined the sounds for each song...

Next, it was time for the keys, more specifically, for the B3 Hammond organ, to come into play...Melvin Seals (previous organ player for Jerry Garcia Band and for many other bands based in the Bay area, currently, active with many projects both on stage and in his studio in the heart of San Francisco), just happened to be the soul man on the scene to fulfill the missing groovy-licious keys desired for the the album...Jon Jon and Susanne went to Seals studio to add his precious vibe on multiple tracks...By then, the colorful sounds were really coming alive...

At this point, miscellaneous percussion and string tracks were recorded and various vocal arrangements as well...Susanne, Jon Jon, Doug Price, Tina Malia, and Blane Lyon all arrived to step in for supporting vocals...By this time, all of the parts were recorded, it was simply time to edit and to strip away what wasn't necessary in order to create smooth mixes...

The final weeks were long hours and minimal sleep for Jon Jon and Susanne...Bernie Grundman's Mastering studio was contacted in Los Angeles in order to make the mastering appointment for the project...Luckily, Brian "big bass" Gardner was up for job...Susanne began working with Cyril Kolloch for the CD graphics...The graphics came through with ease and were shipped off to the duplicator's, Mississippi Studio, in Portland, Oregon...Jon Jon and Susanne completed the final mixes together by 10 AM the same day that Jon Jon was departing for extended travels and creative work in Israel...Shortly after, Susanne headed to Los Angeles to complete the mastering with Brian Gardner...The mastered copy was shipped off to the duplicator's and wahlah...That's the abbreviated story of the making of the album, Faith...(not including a lot of the good times, funny stories and yummy food along the way)...

The CD's arrived...Susanne and Marc (from double m management) shipped out copies immediately...The website continues to be updated by Brenna Ramirez...And Susanne is off on a song writing trip in Figi...Upon Susanne and Jon Jon's return to the San Francisco area, a mo'fessional band with Susanne and the Crucials will unite to ignite the energetic performance felt in the album, Faith...Please tune in at www.susanne-now.com, listen to a music sample, and check to see when and where shows will be performing in and around the Bay area...
