Dear School of LIfer’s,
What I have learned so far is that I still have a lot to learn. The School of Life project is about being kind and celebrating our uniqueness. The songs encourage kids to find their passions and to honor these gifts in themselves and others. The hope is to nurture compassion and an understanding that each one of us matters. We unite, unify, celebrate our diversity and come together to make this world a better place. This is why we came here on this Earth Walk…..to LOVE.

Special Thanks and LOVE to my partner Mike, Mom and Dad, brother David, my mentors Kathi Kenedi, Dr. Shelley Stockwell-Nicholas, and Dr. William Porter. I’m grateful to Guitar Sam’s for my Luna Banjolele, and Lost Nation Theater for opening musical doors for me in Montpelier,VT. Thanks goes to Lake Hills Elementary, in Spring Lake, MI for my time as “Artist in Residence”. Thanks to all the Extraordinary Musicians who shared their gifts on this recording, and the Rappers Charnice LaGrone and James Harper for their hip and edgy words and performances. Thanks to the mixing engineers Chris Andrus, friend, creative genius, and brilliant musician, who worked with me over a 3 year time period patiently and creatively mixing from afar; and finally Michael Hopkins and Erik Peterson, the uber talented heart based duo, who through laughter and tears pulled everything together for an overall flow for the final mix.

This School of Life project is dedicated to Teachers, Counselors, Coaches, and Lunchroom workers who teach for the love of children. I dedicate this to my girl Darla Harrah who makes a difference every day through her work with At Risk Youth for Denver Kids Inc. Darla’s humor and magical connection lights this world with laughter. She has kept me from dropping out of my School of Life classes many times. I also dedicate this project to retired music teacher Janice White. It was her invitation to be an “Artist in Residence” in her music classes which was the inception of the entire School of Life project. Mrs. White lives and models an extraordinary existence in what may seemingly be an ordinary walk of life. Through adversity she models kindness, goodness, and all that is right in this world. She does this all while teaching and sharing her love of music. Jan also performed violin on the DiverseCity. You are my role model, my mentor, and my hero. Thank you Jan!
I LOVE YOU ALL and am so Grateful for your support. Susan

BE KIND! “We Came Here To Love, and To Love Everyday”.
