Sacramento BEE article
For sheer joy of singing with the kids, it would be hard to beat "Children's Songs: A Collection of Childhood Favorites" by Susie Tallman and friends (RockMeBaby Records, $13.95, 72 minutes, ages 3 and up). It's one of best I've heard. Tallman's strong, clear voice and her playful arrangements of 38 favorites make magic.

The variety of songs and instruments will keep repeated listenings from wearing out adult ears. Best of all for anyone who can't quite remember lyrics, Tallman includes them on liner notes. Among songs Tallman includes are "I've Been Working on the Railroad," "Who Stole the Cookies From the Cookie Jar," "Monkeys on the Bed," "La Cucaracha," "Be Kind to Your Web-Footed Friends," "Do Your Ears Hang Low?" and "Kookaburra."

Several performers sing with Tallman and accompany her on guitars, bass, keyboards, drums, train whistles, accordion, Wurlitzer, pots and spoons. It's such a hoot that youngsters will eagerly join in to sing these old favorites and make them their own.

From CITY VIEW
"Children's Songs: A Collection of Childhood Favorites," a brilliant collection of 38 classic children's tunes, not only is interesting, educational and fun for kids, it's entertaining for parents. With tunes that span a variety of genres and languages, "Children's Songs," the latest in Susie Tallman's award-winning series of children's albums, is a worthwhile investment. But don't take my word for it. Ask my 2-year-old son, John, who gets "happy feet" while clapping and singing along to tunes like "If You're Happy and You Know It," "Have You Ever Seen a Lassie?" and "BINGO."

There are lullabies for sleepy babes (and their exhausted parents); nursery rhymes for little learners; and updated classics for the whole family. Susie Tallman & Friends present traditional songs with a twist; music that connects generations – bridging the years between grandparent, parent and child with song. Our CDs can easily become the soundtrack to a young child's life.

Rock Me Baby Records was founded in 1999 by Susie Tallman in order to unite her love for music with her love for the spirit of childhood.

"If parents can enjoy lullabies with their children they will share a very special time together," said Tallman. "Children are educated by the music they are brought up with, and these lullabies will teach them about the bond they share with their parents, and about the warmth of the world their parents will share with them."

Rock Me Baby Records carves out a new path in the market of music for small children," says Tallman. "The albums provide parents with a contemporary way to introduce the beauty and tradition of nursery rhymes and lullabies." All the CDs contain original and interesting arrangements of traditional songs. The lullabies are soothing and calming and the nursery rhymes are fun, exciting and unique, with multiple voices and instruments.
