Album Notes

"Christmas Joy" is filled with original Christmas songs, piano & zither compositions that I created just for this album, plus timeless traditional carols.

With each song and melody, I have tried to reflect the joy and peace brought by the Savior King who was born into a common stable yard over 2000 years ago to bring peace on earth, goodwill to all.

You'll enjoy listening to not only original Christmas songs, but timeless beloved carols such as God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen, I Saw Three Ships, In The Bleak Midwinter, Oh Holy Night, & Away in a Manger.
I sing every song in a Celtic, ethereal style and the effect is very peaceful and calming. It is the perfect antidote for a weary soul worn out by the hectic pace of the holidays.
Find someplace quiet where you can listen to this CD and relax.
Imagine yourself with the shepherds in the dark hills of Bethlehem on that beautiful starry night 2000 years ago when suddenly a heavenly chorus of angels came to them singing of a King born to bring peace on earth.
Perhaps you will hear the echoes of that angel chorus in the music of this album as your stress melts away in the peaceful melodies and lyrics.

Immortal Deity clothed in frail, human flesh~that is how Jesus Christ came to earth that first Christmas.
"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." ~(John 3:16)

In my song, "The Least of All" I sing: "He left the throne of heaven, He left His Father's side, to bring us everlasting peace, and eternal life. /He was the gift of heaven, born in a cattle stall, born to be our Savior, born as the least of all."( © 2013 SDH)

In "The Tiny King," I sing about the shepherds who were visited by angels and told that they would find a King who would be their Savior. But when they followed the star the angels guided them to seek all they found was a baby in a manger.

"Shepherds who were in the fields heard the angels sing, they saw them and they followed them and found the baby King./ They worshiped Jesus in their hearts, they knelt upon the hay, He didn't look to be a King, but they had eyes of faith." ( © 2013 SDH)

Sometimes God chooses the most unlikely things to display His power and glory.
And we need eyes of faith to see it.
Mary and Joseph needed eyes of faith to believe that the little baby they were chosen to raise was God clothed in the flesh, and that He would someday grow up to save the world.

And God asks each one of us to use eyes of faith to believe this amazing story each time we hear it. When we take that step of faith and choose to believe this story, God does something in our hearts. He comes to live inside of us and reveals Himself to us. But He does not do this until we take that step of faith and say, Lord, I believe, help Thou my unbelief. God gives us the gift of faith to believe!

What an amazing gift God gave the world when He gave us Jesus Christ that first Christmas.

My prayer is that my album "Christmas Joy" will bring the peace and joy of Christmas to all who all who listen to it, and that it will fill hearts with the gift of faith to believe in the One who is the greatest Gift of all.
