ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
"Stand for Children," written and performed by Suzanne Sheridan, was recorded at Billy Rush's studio in Weston, CT with the help of Mike Mills' Children of the Sun Drumming Group. The phenomenal backup singers are John Lathan, Mary Bond Davis and Leslie Miller. All of us had and have the desire to make a difference in the lives of children, to help people understand that they need to be supported to live their dreams. Children need to have stability, love, support, encouragement, and to know that they are valued.

Dr. Mark Boxer, Children's Law Center Board Member, had this to say:
"Thanks for sharing the music. Totally aligned to our mission.”

Suzanne responded to Dr. Boxer: "My name is Suzanne Sheridan .Yes, i wrote the song "Stand for Children." Sometimes it takes a song to galvanize a project and I would be happy if you use my song to help as many children as you can. It would make me happy to know that you are using the song to get more funding for the important work you do."

The Children’s Law Center of Connecticut protects poor children in family court cases, and advocates for systemic change in systems and policies that affect the well-being of children involved in family transitions. The need for these services is great.

Data shows that parental conflict puts children at risk for suicide, teen pregnancy, homelessness, behavioral issues, truancy, substance abuse and crime.

Twenty years ago, the Children’s Law Center of Connecticut was founded after a 6-year old girl was shot and killed during a supervised visitation session. The lack of legal services for children in family court was identified as a systemic problem, and the Children’s Law Center was founded.

Please support this important work by purchasing this very powerful song.
