Album Notes
Dear Friend,
I came across a poem called "The Weaver" a few years ago. It affected me deeply the first time I read it. Being human is to experience loss, hurt and pain (the "Dark Threads") alongside the times of freedom, joy and peace (the lighter coloured threads).
In my own journey, facing those dark threads head on has lead to freedom and a heart that is pliable. It has driven me into the arms of my Saviour, Jesus, and forged a relationship with God that has exceeded my expectations. There has been healing in places of my heart that I thought would be permanently broken.

There's not always an answer to the question "why?".

Why do we have to go through the things we do in this life? Why do we encounter such deep pain that we don't know if we can keep on breathing? I can see small glimpses of the reasons why as I look back on my life, but the whole picture is still very much hidden.
I do know that the dark threads have caused change in me that would not have occurred had my life been different. Changes for the good by the grace and love of God. And because of that - I wouldn't want to alter my story, even if it would mean less pain and heartache. It's made me who I am today.

I still experience the Dark Threads, and I know there will be more to come. But I also know that one day I'll see the full canvas of my life, rolled out in all its artistry. I will see all the beautiful threads woven together creating the story of my life. The Weaver sees the story in full and I trust Him with all my heart.
As you listen to the songs that came from the Dark Threads of my life, my hope and prayer is that you would be encouraged, experience healing and feel the love of God over you.

The Weaver

My Life is but a weaving
Between my Lord and me;
I cannot choose the colors
He worketh steadily.

Oft times He weaveth sorrow
And I, in foolish pride,
Forget He sees the upper,
And I the under side.

Not til the loom is silent
And the shuttles cease to fly,
Shall God unroll the canvas
And explain the reason why -

The dark threads are as needful
In the Weaver's skillful hand,
As the threads of gold and silver
In the pattern He has planned.
