ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
To celebrate 10 years of The Saturday Afternoon Song Swap, a NJ/NY based songwriters performance collective, we invited all songwriters who have performed their songs at a swap to contribute a recording to this collection. We received a cornucopia of songs, reflecting the variety and depth of ideas in our group. Some writers sent us brand new songs, others their old favorites. Some songs are highly produced finished masters, others are home recordings. We love them all! Take your time and listen little by little. The songs are sequenced roughly in order of the artists' first appearance at a song swap, dating from 2008 through 2018.
The location of our song swap has changed over the years and we've grouped the songs presented here by location.

Be sure to stream or download "Swap Thing: Part 1" which features two volumes of songs from the beginning years:
"We Were Kittens" - The Cafe Meow Years
"For Art’s Sake" - The 1978 Gallery Years

The Saturday Afternoon Song Swap kept getting better and better. Here we present "Swap Thing: Part 2" which features three volumes of songs from the later years:
"Caffeinated" - The Esspresso Joe's Years
"Over-caffeinated" - More From Espresso Joe’s Years, and elsewhere
"Let’s Play House" - The Banjo Lisa’s House Concerts Years

Produced by Rebecca Turner and Deena Shoshkes
Technical Assistance by Scott Anthony
Administrative Assistance by Tony Donato
All songs and recordings belong to the songwriters and have been used with their permission.
Photography by Sherri Zuckerman

Special thanks to Boo Reiners for titling "Swap Thing" and Tony Donato for making sure we celebrated our 10th anniversary!

PLEASE NOTE: If you're a Song Swapper and somehow our invitation to contribute didn't reach you (in which case we apologize deeply) or you didn't contribute this time but want to next time, never fear! We're already compiling "Son of Swap Thing," our Volume II...so please send us your submissions!
