Though it Were the Kiss of Death

by The Sweet Clementines

The Sweet Clementine's first full-length CD is an ambitious collection of literate, lyrical (sm)art pop in the tradition of Elvis Costello, Elliot Smith, and the Kinks-- Playful and irreverent, musically sophisticated and lyrically substantial.

Sweet Clementines are Sweet
You will not find a more unique and talented band in 2011 than the Sweet Clementines. Anyone tired of the latest and greatest music to come out of the music industrial machinery will be pleasantly awakened and energized by this collection of songs. Put on the CD, kick back in your favorite chair, and get ready to be transported to a world filled with a tapestry of rich songs, impressive musician stylings and the soft harmonies of the Sweet Clementines.

So good they've got me going out to listen to live music again late at night
It's a blast to see them live, their music is smart, lively, harmonious and democratic! Love the interplay between the musicians, they are highly talented and unusual. Great lyrics! I was heavily into the music scene some decades back, saw every concert I was willing to drive to when I worked in radio. That translated to at least 100 concerts a year for years on end. Well it's been a while since I felt compelled to go out to listen to live music but this band has got me hooked. The album is really fine original music - including a fiddle and xylophone - try it, you'll love it. A great value, too - 23 songs for a mere $10. See them live if you can, buy the album if you can't.
