Album Notes
* * (France) - World Album of the Week * *

In March of 1993, bassist Mike Garner, guitarist Josh Radin, pianist Dennis DiBrizzi and drummer Paul Undersinger happened to cross paths at an Open Mic night in Nyack, NY. That night, after having a chance to play a few songs together, the guys knew there was something there, and The Sylvester Brothers were born.

After years of playing the bars and developing a solid fan base, and with the addition of guitarist Pat Jones to replace the departed Dennis DiBrizzi, the boys seemed to be steamrolling ahead. But in mid-2000, the band began going through a number of changes in personnel which resulted in a slew of drummers and guitarists gracing the ranks over a three year period, with originals Mike and Josh still at the helm.

2003 brought Mike, Josh and Pat back together again. And, with the addition of Derek Lord on drums, the band was determined to finally get back to the fun music that had become their signature over the years.

And this CD is all about the fun. The Sylvester Brothers are an energy filled, rockin` band that brings you the best in real, authentic Rock n` Roll and Jump Blues. Their live shows feature their rockin' original material combined with material from artists like Chuck Berry, Dave Edmunds and NRBQ to Louis Jordan, Joe Turner, Elmore James and Little Richard. Power, driving rhythm and some Beatle-esque harmonies will keep you coming back for more time & time again. Rockin` fun all night long!

So if you are in the NYC area, come check out their live shows. You won't be disappointed. And for you folks who can't get out to the venues (and for those who can't get enough of them), why not grab 2 copies of this CD; one for the house, and for your car player for that "cruisin' down the highway" feel.

Send the band an email and let them know what you think. They would love to hear from you.

I heard about this CD from the greatest live pure rock n' roll bar band I have ever heard , the great SB's themselves. If you ever wanna hear great, ass kickin rock and roll live check them out. I have seen them so many times and the memories I have listening to them are awesome. My work schedule makes it hard to see them but this CD is a great replacement I could talk for hours about them but I do have to say to the SB's ~ SUPER CD BOYS!

Rocking and just plain GREAT..... Love the guitars
This CD is just plain rocking. It has tremendous energy and when you are listening you just feel like dancing and having a good time. If you ever get a chance to see them in person you are gauranteed to have a good time. The first time I saw them I was driving past a bar and I heard the music and just had to stop in. I have been hooked ever since. You got to get this CD.

Makes you want to dance!
I picked up this CD at their CD Release Party (Sorry CD Baby). I've had it in my car changer ever since. I had to post this review so that other people would get some kind of an idea how good these guys are. I'm new to their following, but I know they have been around a long time. You can hear that in the music on this CD. These guys are TIGHT! If you like The Blasters or Dave Edmunds, you'll love this CD. Makes you wanna bounce!

Great combo of roots rock and blues!
Something different than the typical copycat Hank wannabees of the world. These guys have blended some great, dancable grooves with some old fashioned Tele pickin'. Some nice harmonies grace this CD in just the right places too. This is a nicely pacaged CD with 14 songs. You get a lot for your money here. Picks include "Pat's Blues", "My Whiskey Won't Bring Me Down", ballad "Baby It's Love" and "Be M Baby Tonight". A great CD to have in the car with the top down!

Gets Better & Better Each Time You Listen To It!
Great balance of good old rock n roll with terrific ballads. Worth having two copies, one for the car and one for the house!

Mike, Pat, Josh & Derek - Smokin' band!!!!
Ladies, you want to rock - get the CD. The only thing better is seeing them live - they rock!! Great sound, hot lyrics ~ these local boys are talented!

Caught me by surprise!!
I got this CD as a present for XMAS and what a treat! I can't stop singing along and rocking when I drive. When is the next CD due? I want more Sylvester Brothers.
