ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Symphonic Stories was a world premiere concert of original beautiful music held at Benaroya Hall on March 18, 2012. Seven Seattle composers were asked to tell stories though music, and the result was gorgeous new classical music, each highly individual, lyrical, and beautiful. The music on this CD was recorded prior to the live concert at Bastyr Hall, and featured a 60 piece symphony orchestra of some of Seattle's finest musicians, conducted by Grammy-award winner David Sabee. The composers whose works are featured on this CD are Eric Goetz, Catherine Grealish, Eric Nielsen, Tim Huling, Glenna Burmer, Barry Dowsett, and Jeff Tolbert. Proceeds from this concert were donated to assist in the recovery of the Sendai Philharmonic Orchestra, as a way for "musicians and music lovers to help musicians."
