Album Notes

1 – Intro, Promenade 1, Gnomus (The Gnome) – 5:54 minutes
Begins with a solo piano introduction to “Pictures”. The orchestra then plays Promenade 1, followed by grand piano solo for “The Gnome”.

2 – Promenade 2, Il vecchio castello (The Old Castle) - 6:14 minutes.
Full orchestra plays “Promenade 2”, followed by choir, piano and orchestra for “The Old Castle”.

3 – Promenade 3, Tuileries (Children Quarrelling After Play) - 1:56 minutes.
“Promenade 3” begins with synthesizer then is accompanied by full orchestra, which continues through “Children Quarrelling After Play”.

4 – Bydlo (Cattle) - 3:09 minutes.
“Cattle” is played with grand piano and synthesizer and then played with orchestra.

5 – Promenade 4 - Ballet des poussins dans leurs coques (Ballet of the Unhatched Chicks) - 1:39 minutes.
“Promenade 4” is played with synthesizer and orchestra, followed with full orchestra for “Ballet of the Unhatched Chicks”.

6 – Samuel Goldberg und Schmuÿle - 4:52 minutes.
This is played with grand piano solo and then replayed with string/brass orchestra, choir, organ, and grand piano.

7 – Limoges. Le marchĕ (The Market Place – Important News) - 3:33 minutes.
Opens with grand piano and strings and then mirrored with full orchestra and piano.

8a – Catacombae (Sepulcrum romanum)/Catacombs (A Roman Sepulchre) - 5:35 minutes (total for 8a and 8b).
Catacombs is played with orchestra, choir, organ and grand piano.

8b - Cum mortuis in lingua mortua (With the Dead in a Dead Language).
Cum mortis is played with solo synthesizer/grand piano and then again with orchestra and organ.

9 – Baba Yaga / The Great Gate of Kiev - 10:14 minutes.
Baba Yaga is played throughout with orchestra and piano. The “Great Gate of Kiev” begins with Celeste and then is played throughout with full orchestra, choir, organ and piano.
