Album Notes
Syrinx Effect plays its own brand of interstellar folk-punk-jazz. We created this duo in 2011 to connect, improvise and experiment with electronics in conjunction with our singular trombone and soprano saxophone instrumentation. The result has been a beautiful and transcendent journey of creating and sharing music that sounds greater than the sum of its parts. Our first two EPs were recorded live and marked the emergence of our unique sound as a duo. This full-length album consists of 10 songs that combine our free improvisation roots with a melodic, groove-oriented, pop-music sensibility. To make this album, we delved into new recording processes involving overdubbing tracks, recording in a home studio, collaborating with producer Eric Eagle, and incorporating live and drum-machine percussion.
