Album Notes
“You’re Life’s The Only Starring Role You Get To Play”, and that’s how a career gets built…by believing in what you do and chasing your dreams. John Taglieri is no stranger to chasing dreams and making a career and has been doing so the old fashioned way.

With the upcoming release of his fourth CD, Wide Awake & Dreaming (4/07 Leap Dog Music), along with a DVD This Was NOW, Taglieri has realized all the dreams one could hope for. A full time touring career, solid CD sales, a growing fan base, his own record label and publishing company, and much, much more. Building things one step at a time has been his way, and he has stepped right into something good. Part troubadour, part showman, Taglieri has made a name for himself through energetic and emotional live shows showcasing his catchy songwriting and powerful voice. His latest offering illustrates the growth and depth of his writing, and shows an artist that is comfortable in his own skin and place in his career. His songs capture the listener’s imagination and make them feel as if he were singing to them, with a positive attitude so sorely missing in music today. Catchy, familiar, honest and welcoming, his songs draw you in and have you singing along after just one listen. Spending time on the road as a solo acoustic, a duo, trio, and full band, he has brought many facets of himself to the table.

Picking up a guitar at age five was the first step for John Taglieri, and he hasn’t looked back since. He has been playing and recording music professionally since the age of 15. He has released independent albums with past groups, toured on local, regional, and national levels, and received airplay from many local radio stations. Music is a way of life to him. He has shared bills with some of the most famous players out there and has played some of the best venues in his home area. He has been a lead guitarist, lead vocalist/frontman, drummer, percussionist, bassist and keyboard player. His vocal talent has been used in every project he has ever been involved in, be it as a lead or background vocalist. His ability to play many instruments has insured that he has kept busy at all times.

With three independent albums to his credit, John has made a solid name on the indie circuit, constantly touring and playing relentlessly. His tenacious attitude has garnered him considerable press. With all the media have come sponsorships from the likes of Ovation Guitars, Marshall Amplification and Curt Mangan Strings. His first solo CD, Leap Of Faith was a true labor of love for Taglieri. The diverse blend of songs on the CD has made John's sound accessible to many people, from many genres. With one “Male Pop CD of the Year” win already, and also a runner up for “Rock Album Of The Year” nod, as well as being chosen as a “Top 20” in many polls, there seems to be no delay to the tremendous momentum. His second CD, Half & Half helped to garner him the “UIMA Pop/Rock Artist Of The Year” award, with more press and bigger shows following along. Opening for more national acts, gaining exposure and fans, the momentum continued to build. His third release, NOW, kept that momentum going with more touring and more positive reviews. Having shared
the stage regularly with acts such as Rik Emmett, Edwin McCain, The Gin Blossoms, Gavin DeGraw,
Sister Hazel, and many other top name acts, Taglieri is becoming an in demand performer.

Ever growing as a writer, his new material is full of straight up rootsy Americana pop/rock n’ roll. His new songs speak to the listeners from a place that talks about what life is all about. His knack for story telling
and pulling the listener into the song is increasing and is helping to build a solid fan base. With a solid foundation and fantastic new material, it seems that the consistent upwards climb is going to continue.

What does the future hold for John Taglieri? Only time will tell, but so far, thing are going in one direction…upwards!

A Must Hear & Own
This CD is unbelievable - and that's a good thing. Not the same-o-same-o. The sound and quality of the CD's contents is not to be missed!

I Love it!
This CD is great from start to finish. I would compare it to Third Eye Blind & The Gin Blossoms. My favorite songs are Wide Awake & Dreaming followed by Staring Role. There is also a very sweet ballad called While You Sleep. Make sure you listen past the last track...there are some fun hidden surprises! :0)

positive expression of the journey
I an enjoying listening and singing along to “wide awake and dreaming”, it arrived on my doorstep at exactly the right time, was having one of “those” kinda days in fact go listen to track 13 on this album “Think of you” that’ll tell my day’s story anywho got the album threw it on the cd player (haven’t taken it off since) and pow get a hit of the happy blues. It’s a great album to listen to, tap along to, relax to or get yourself ready for wherever whatever, the hell you’re getting ready for. Awesome stuff.
Love that fact that it doesn’t seem to be over produced it still has that real raw feel to it you get when someone plays live, the joy and energy is flowing free is not contrived or replicated its just there. There are some surprises on this album such as with La Pregunta de Corazon which is just beautiful and of course the quirky “hidden” tracks which are a hoot and half to say the least.
To me this is a joyful expression of all that is possible if you trust in yourself, follow your heart and remain wide awake a dreaming.
Thank you John for this great gift. Blessings and joy.

I strongly recommend
John Taglieri did it again. Combining very well-crafted songs with fine lyrics and bringing across a message to the audience. He is not only a good songwriter, a gifted lyricist, a good guitar player and a great singer, he’s also a good man. And you can recognize this by listening to his music, as it is as honest and pure as the man and the message he is giving us. This adds to the already excellent music on this album. My personal favourites are Waiting For Me, Corner of my Eye, Place In Line, & While You Sleep, but now it’s up to you. You decide what your favourites are. All I can do is very strongly recommend you to listen to this excellent collection of songs on John Taglieri’s new album “Wide Awake & Dreaming”!!

freakin awesome!
this cd is an amazing blend of heart, soul, passion and fun. if you like the less-heavy rock and roll sound when plugged in, and something that would sound amazing in an acoustic setting, as well, give this man - this CD a listen - you won't regret it.

as with his other albums, John Taglieri shows you a slice of his life while giving you the music you want

One of the best
Being married to a Radio DJ, I am exposed to many different types of music everything from Rock, Pop, AC, Top 40, to Lite Variety...John's CD goes back to my roots of what I love in music. Being a huge fan of Edwin McCain, Sister Hazel, Dave Matthews, LifeHouse, to name a few, most of what I listen has to keep my interest. Not only must it have great lyrics that are to the point, but have a powerful impact, and of course a great rhythmn. It has to captivate me, and this album does. When you listen to this CD you can't help but feel a variety of emotion.. solacement, spirited, the lyrics are those that you have to think to yourself "I've been there, I've done that, I've felt that way at one point or another" One can relate to so many feelings of emotion, love, sadness, dreams, aspirations, frustration and even loss and sorrow. Some songs make you reflect, some make you want to start tapping your feet to the beat while you're at work listening (not like me or some make you just sit there listen and relax and get the beat...I aboslutely love this CD. A true work of art, and great listening can't get enough!

“Wide awake and Dreaming” delivers songs with the potential to become Top 40 hit

“Wide awake and Dreaming”
Leap Dog Music

The catchy pop sounds of John Taglieri will hit your ear with a blend of contemporary pop and slight shades of ’60s and ’70’s soft rock, such as the Eagles, Bread and Seals and Crofts.

The vocals of Taglieri are a variation on Jon Bon Jovi. The lyrics and songwriting are solid on the majority of the album.

I have picked three songs out of the fifteen that I think most listeners will agree are standouts. We will start with a song titled “Falling Through” This up-tempo song is right on track with contemporary pop tunes that you hear when you turn your radio on at work while listening to your favorite Top 40 station. The band is playing very uniform on this track, and there’s a catchy guitar/bass unison lick that gives this song character.

The song “ Tell Me If” starts out on the previous track as a flamenco-induced introduction, then goes into a fast-paced, Latin groove soft rock. You could hear the Eagles covering this song. I think, “Tell Me If” will become a hit. The format of the song is right: The lyrics, the band’s playing, vocals and tempo are very good.

The last song, “While you Sleep” is a slow ballad with a piano opening reminiscent of a slow song by Kenny Rogers, Joe Cocker or Journey. The good news is, even though the title is called ”While You Sleep,” it didn’t put me to sleep. The listener will enjoy this soft rock ballad.

For fans of soft rock, including fast contemporary pop and some slower ballads, give John Taglieri's fourth album release, “ Wide Awake and Dreaming,” a listen.

JOHN TAGLIERI - Wide Awake & Dreaming ( I had seen JT with his full band ( this is a solo album), a couple of years ago at one of Mike Grau's Indie Showcases in Sayreville. The band was the highlight of the show with their clean, alt. pop sound, and John's upfront, distinct vocals. The show was energetic and uplifting. On "Wide Awake & Dreaming" John adds to his legacy with straight ahead rootsy vocals, and bright, popish tunes of life's joy and sorrow. I know I sound like a little mellow dramatic but yeah, John's music has that appeal without copping out and saying things that you know some bands say just to make a buck, like say Bon Jovi's sickening, bland ode to trust, "I'll be There for You." What crap!! Everyone once in a while likes to lump bands into neat catagories, and I'm no different. However, I digress! John Taglieri is straight up unique. He conjures up images of all the good things that you start a rock and roll band for (including beer & babes). Those songs would be the envy of any band that can capture the passion and spirit of a song that you love to play time and time again. John Taglieri has all that and a lot more going for him. - Phil Rainone
