Appreciations From Taina
I give thanks to all those who have carved the path of creating music as a tool for social change. I dedicate this work to my “fruits of hope” Yabisi and Caona, and also to the memory of my parents and grandparents for inspiring and guiding my writing and voice. Endless gratitude and Love to my partner in life and music, Gaetano, as well as to la Banda Rebelde (Kiki, Gabby, Dylan and Tonya) and our artist contributors (Ayana, Naima, Michael, Eliane, Devesh, Matt, and Kevin). Appreciation to Brett Portzer for his hard engineering work, and to David Bourgeois and White Lake Music & Post for the generous use of the studio. Thanks to Lana Ortiz for her beautiful photography and Katie Nare for her gorgeous jewelry. Gratefulness to Morgan FitzPatrick Andrews, Lia Muniz and Carmen Torres for pronunciation and translation assistance. Gratitude to Leah, Jonah and Soul Fire Farm for caring for the land upon which we wrote most of these songs. Loving appreciation to Carolyn and Mario Vaccaro for their endless support in so many ways. And a thousand hugs to all of our friends and family for holding us in our passion, our vision and our purpose.
