Album Notes
Experience the musical "Magical Realism"
Mellow, warm and intimate...... Contemporary Jazz with a smooth, romantic Brazilian flavor

Takeda's Brazilian Jazz CD, consists of 12 great original compositions that she recorded in Rio de Janeiro with some of Brazil's top musicians.
In this instrumental collection, she expresses her poetic view of Rio, where she lived for a year and considers to be the world's most beautiful city with its rich heritage of music, rhythms, and breathtaking nature.
Her beautifully intoxicating ballads flow with genuine emotions, and her original Jazz tunes with their smooth Brazilian beat, will soothe the savage soul and captivate you with their magical spell. The musical "Magical Realism" of TAKEDA's "poemas" must be experienced to be fully appreciated.

Keiko Takeda, begun studying at the Yamaha Piano School in Japan at the age of 4. By 18, she was already playing with Jazz bands around Tokyo before moving to Boston and earning her bachelor's degree at the renowned Berklee College of Music. Keiko has also studied in southern Spain and Cuba, whose rhythms and harmonies continue to inspire her. While living in Los Angeles, Keiko has composed, arranged and produced music for numerous film, television and radio projects, as well as two CDs of original compositions on Viagem Records -- Spirits and Poemas, the latter written while living in Rio de Janeiro and recorded with many of Brazil's top musicians. Poemas has been played in nation's top Jazz and Latin FM stations and has received great reviews.

Beautiful Brazilian Bouquets!
The music on this CD is a beautiful, fluid, Brazilian-inspired sound poem. Takeda, who composes, arranges, and produces the entire work, blends voices (that sound like Argentinian Pedro Aznar's lyricless harmonies with the Pat Metheny Group), sax, guitar, and her piano into a mixture that is simultaneously relaxing and haunting. Like a breeze on the Ipanema beach!

As the night must come,The sun must rise.
Is a great experience for music lovers in general.I my self listen to a variety of sounds from all places, and find this cd fruitful for variations of moodsetting.a few favorites
