Album Notes
Composer, singer/songwriter, Bear Connelly, received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Music from Skidmore College. A native of Rhode Island, Bear has performed his original compositions at clubs and festivals throughout New England and Northern California.

Using a first person approach to songwriting, Bear tackles issues that are a part of our everyday lives, from relationships, strength of self, compassion, desires of the mind and heart, authority figures, to the human impact on the natural world.

Bear's ensemble "Talking About Commas" contributes a lush texture of sounds and rhythms to the unique original compositions written by Bear for these recording sessions.

"Sick of Blocking Out the Sun" features Bear on guitar and vocals, Pete Morse on electric guitars and bass, Stefen Samuels (of Portland Maine prog-rockers "Eldemur Krimm") on drums and special appearance by RI songstress Allysen Callery on the song "Plea Bargain".

Hi Bear, Huge congratulations to you on this impressive first album. Uncle David and I have been enjoying it and want you to know what an accomplishment we think it is. Love, Aunt Janet and Uncle David

Nice slippery slide/electric guitar combined with drier acoustic. Gentle beautiful voice. Sensitive, nice dry sense of humor, feeling of longing, casualness ....nice. Feel a relationship to the band Wilco

sick of blocking out the sun
This album explores real-life feelings and captures the thoughts that many encounter throughout their life. Intelligent lyrics and beautiful song writing from a new, up and coming artist. Bravo, Bear!

The lyrics read like poetry, although it still manages to sound melodic...\"
