ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
"Ordinary Supergirl doesn't have a dry spot on it - the CD is juicy, ripe with well-thought out arrangements and a full range of sound. Evidence of Tamaras' skill as a musician and songwriter weaves throughout each song, from the bittersweet "Sad Kisses" to the bouncy "Jelly Roll." Never one to shy away from politics, Tamaras incorporates plenty of commentary into her music, but never lets the message outweigh the sound - instead, the instrumental sounds wrap around each other, providing a support structure for the words Tamaras delivers via her distinctive vocal attack....
Jennifer Savage, The Arcata Eye 2005

"Tamaras' "Ordinary Supergirl" is one of the year's best-produced records... the result is a perfect collaboration between artistic vision and the recording process... A uniformly strong record across all its tracks."
Bill Janush, Do it yourself awards 2004

"The enthusiasm and kindness that Tamaras puts into her music is delightfully contagious and unmatched by any performer I've come across...and not once on "Ordinary Supergirl" does she fail to make your eardrums stand at attention"
Katherine Kovacich, Times Standard, Eureka California

A very fine effort
I'd be willing to bet that Tamaras has been often compared to Ani DiFranco. Her sound on this album is similar, but far from exact. This album is much funkier and has is more diverse, using a more eclectic variety of instruments. Over all, "Ordinary Supergirl" is well put together, sounds very professional, and has some great songs. The CD has been stuck in my player for at least a week now, and I'm not yet sick of it. That's a pretty good indicator of how good the record is!
