Album Notes
Tammy Cassidy is a country singer/songwriter raised in Troy Indiana. During her school years when it wasn't "cool" to be country, Tammy WAS country and still is today. During her high school years 1990-1993 the Garth phenomenon hit. Tammy stayed the course and finished her first song while pretending to take notes in literature class! The song "Wild and Free" was a popular hit at school functions and around campfires during her high school years.

Tammy comes from a long line of performers. Her great grandfather from Breckinridge County Kentucky played guitar and fiddle, Grandfather, Allen "Monk" Beatty played mandolin and appeared on radio shows in the south pacific during WW2 on the Mosquito Radio Network. Monk played mainly at Pee Wee King's place in Louisville Kentucky after returning from the war in the late 40's and early 50's.
Tammy's great uncle, Sam Smiley, has won harmonica championships in 6 states and Tammy always sang with him at Smiley family reunions, which have over 150 people in attendance.

Tammy's parents, Jim and Nancy Cassidy are also campfire performers, meaning they do the music for fun in their circle of friends.

Tammy began writing songs with her mother, Nancy Cassidy and local songwriter, Stan LaGrange (staff writer for Little Big Town in Nashville 4 yrs) in 1997 and continued to go to Nashville monthly to perform at such places as "Roberts", "Tootsie's", The "Legend", She was able to see and hear the great music being written and performed in Nashville and realized that fame in Nashville comes with a price. Tammy still makes the necessary trips to Nashville. Her mother, Nancy, is owner of Tunesmith.net, a songwriting website for spotlighting uncut songwriters. Tammy assists with planning and coordinating Nashville seminar's for Tunesmith.

Tammy, along with her cousin Jenny Varner as harmony vocalist, recorded her first CD in 2000 "Heart's Point of View" and used the Internet for promoting it. She quickly rose to the top of the charts at Besonic and got a lot of attention in Germany, France, Canada, Australia, Sweden, and UK. She has topped the charts and gotten good reviews from all over the world.

Tammy has performed in concert with Noel Haggard and opened for Grammy nominated country artist, David Ball who released his single "Too Much Blood in My Alcohol Level" under his new Wildcatter Record Label in 2005.

Tammy appears regularly on the "Roots of Country" show with Joe Winner on WRAY Radio in Princeton IN. She has had Noel Haggard, David Ball, David Bratton, Todd Milsap, Michael Huffman, Alan Laney, Ladd Smith, Ronnie Miley, Stacey & Eddie Houston, Bobby Davis and Lance Miller on as her guests live in the studio or via telephone.

Tammy appeared weekly at the night club The Wheel on the Famous Lower Broadway strip for 4 months of Thursday night shows, she performed with David Frizzel, Trent Tomlinson and Mark Collie. Tammy continues to perfrom with her band comprized of some of Nashville best pickers. Stacey and Eddie Houston, Eddie King, and Ronnie Miley, they all have played with some of country music's most famous acts. Tammy is looking forward to her first national release later this year.

Tammy is a great singer and songwriter. Her voice is wonderful and the cd is great her songs have so much meaning about things that are going on in the world and in relationships between one another. My favorite song is wild and free and I am also a country girl and I agree if I were a city girl it wouldn't be the same.

Tammy Needs to Be Heard
I'm not sure who passes judgement anymore but someone is over looking a great talent here. The world of real Country
Music would be much better listening with her voice gracing
the air waves. Don't let up Tammy --go after your own galaxy!
Best of Luck to you! BJ

One of the best female singer/songwriters ever......
This young lady has one of the best voices in the Traditional Country business. Her song, Lady of the house, is my favorite song of all times. She is going to be a huge star, and it won't be long now. This CD is fantastic.

Nashville Nobody

This girl is GREAT
Ms Cassidy has the kind of voice that has been missing in Country music. I run a small label but I would not mess her up with trying to sign her to mine. Wake up Sony this girl has something to show to you. I see she is a friend and supporter of Brad Cotter, ANOTHER act you passed on!
(If you are in Nashville 3 next year, I will work hard for you tammy)

Becky ( Lamar, IN - home to BIG CHUCK'S BBQ)

I went to school with Tammy and it is a great feeling to hear her voice and know in your heart that this girl is going to make it big. It gave me goosebumps when I listened to her on here, definately going to go to Owensboro and buy a CD!
