ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
"This CD is a must-have for anyone who appreciates instrumental bluegrass and Americana."--Richard Foss, All Music

"The fiddle-percussion combination is an unusual one, but Rogers and Heffington manage to sound both deeply traditional and intriguingly exotic. Rogers takes one vocal turn, ``Rest in the Arms of Angels,'' and her voice has an Alison Krauss-like purity that makes you wish she had sung more."--Nick Cristiano, Knight-Ridder

"An obscure gem: a fiddler and percussionist pay haunting ode to the ethnic and mountain music of their families and ancestors."--Daniel Gewertz, Boston Herald
_________

Tammy Rogers is a classically trained violinist who grew up in a house with bluegrass-loving parents. After graduating from SMU on a full scholarship, she was recruited into Patty Loveless's band, and later, drew raves in Trisha Yearwood's band.

She's supported several major musicians including Vince Gill, Emmylou Harris, Randy Travis, Maria McKee, Rosie Flores and Kieran Kane. When Kieran formed Dead Reckoning with Kevin Welch and others, Tammy was eager to become a part of that kind of art and joined in. This lead to her putting out three CDs on the label, In the Red, Tammy Rogers and The Speed of Love as well as participating in the A Night of Reckoning tour and CD. She writes most of her own songs, and sings and performs in a variety of musical genres.

In the studio, she's recorded with Peter Case, Iris Dement, Neil Diamond, Radney Foster, Jimmie Dale Gilmore, Wynonna, Jim Lauderdale, Danni Leigh, Buddy and Julie Miller, Randy Scruggs, and wrote Terri Clark's hit "A Little Gasoline."

She is currently a member of the Grammy-winning bluegrass band, The Steeldrivers.
